Of course there's also a checkbox to turn it off, if you liked the previous implementation better. The camera has its own offset that you can freely adjust though, so if you want to pull it farther away from the wall and Aloy, you can. It's third person, but very close, as it's meant to give you the ability to look around and clearly see where you want to go next, while at the same time preserving your identification with Aloy, that is, still making you feel like you are the one doing the climbing. So, in the end I wrote in a secondary camera that activates automatically during climbing. I spent a lot of time on this one, because Aloy climbs really close to the rock wall/pole/ladder/etc., and that means there just is no room for a good first person camera. Another thing some users wanted (myself included) was a better camera for climbing and parkour.Anyway, as usual you can experiment with the settings and find the combination you like best. So by default it's not active for the third person camera, because it would fix the background but make Aloy jittery as you orbit around her. First and foremost, what many of you asked for is finally here: perfectly smooth turning, both with the gamepad stick and the mouse! I rewrote the prediction code from scratch to adapt it to Horizon: Zero Dawn, and now it works much better also for Red Dead Redemption 2! In the overlay, you will find this labeled "Camera rotation compensation": it's selected by default for the first person camera.ĭue to the way VR runtimes work, this type of prediction can only compensate for a rotation around the viewer (it uses ATW/reprojection).This release brings several fixes and improvements to the experience. For RDR2 there is also a PDF attached below with instructions for the other games, refer to this post for general setup and configuration directions, and if needed to the specific posts covering each game to obtain more detailed information.įor Patrons who are already playing Horizon: Zero Dawn Please note that each game will require a separate installation. It implements all the VR conversions in this Patreon: Red Dead Redemption 2, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Mafia III: Definitive Edition and now Horizon: Zero Dawn. The release attached at the bottom of this post is the one you want to download. And what a year it has been! The ride couldn't have been wilder if it had taken place on a Broadhead :-) This will probably be my last release for this year.
